Keynote Speaker
Rep. Katrina Jackson
The Honorable Katrina Jackson is an attorney and a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. She was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar and elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives in 2011. Ms. Jackson opened her private law firm, Katrina R. Jackson LLC and is a partner with the Downs Law Firm. She is the head of the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus.
Rep. Jackson is the lead sponsor of the “Love Life Amendment”—a proposed constitutional amendment that passed the Louisiana Legislature by overwhelming margins and will now appear before the state’s voters in the 2020 election. The amendment boldly states, “To protect human life, nothing in this constitution shall be construed to secure or protect a right to abortion or require the funding of abortion.”
Jackson says “I tell people in my state when they ask me, ‘Why are you a black, female, Democrat lawmaker fighting for life?’ I tell them because I’m a Christian first,” Jackson added. “And then I tell them that Proverbs say God hates the shedding of innocent blood. There’s no blood more innocent than an unborn child who’s never sinned, who never knew sin, and so for them …we will fight.”
Special Guest
Isabella Chow
Isabella gained national attention as a Christian student at the Univ of Cal-Berkeley for reading a statement explaining her Biblically-based views on sexuality and marriage as a student government Senator. She endured widespread attacks as a result, but stood strong with grace and compassion. Isabella’s example can inspire all of us, as we strive to live out our faith and contend for Truth.
