For Such a Time as This – Religious Liberty Dinner

KEYNOTE SPEAKER JOSEPH BACKHOLM is Legal Counsel and Director of The Embassy for the Colson Center for Christian Worldview – a ministry that equips Christians to live out their faith with clarity, confidence, and courage in the current cultural moment.

The Colson Center offers incisive content that cuts through the fog of relativism and the news cycle with truth and compassion; Provides training that unlocks every believer’s calling to restore culture; Resources and activates a movement of Christians committed to cultural restoration.

Prior to the Colson Center, Backholm served as the Executive Director of the Family Policy Institute of Washington (FPIW) and FPIW Action. FPIW coordinated with other family policy councils including Alaska Family Action to advocate for families on behalf of marriage, life, religious freedom, and parental rights.

Backholm managed the educational, legislative, and electoral operations for FPIW and was a frequent guest on state and national media outlets speaking on issues related to marriage, life, religious freedom, parental rights, and citizenship.

Prior to joining FPIW he spent three years as Staff Counsel in the Washington State Senate. Born and raised in Aberdeen, Washington, Joseph got his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and his law degree from the Seattle University School of Law. He and his wife Brook, live with their four children in the Dallas, Texas area.
